State Flag Day

On August 23, the State Flag Day is celebrated in Ukraine. And although this holiday is relatively new (it was celebrated since 2004), the history of the Ukrainian flag reaches the seeds of antiquity.

Legends of the Origins

As a symbol appeared on the Ukrainian lands with the combination of blue and yellow colors - it is certainly not known. Some legends say that Tsi colors appeared Magnificent trolls during the great relocation of peoples.

Official Recognition

The first official recognition of blue and yellow, as a flag of the Ukrainian people, took place on March 22, 1918. Then the Central Rada adopted the Law, approving the combination of yellow and blue colors as a bill of the Ukrainian People's Republic.
