Machine Building Day

   This holiday was established to support the initiative of workers in engineering and instrument making. According to the decree of the President of Ukraine Leonid Kravchuk Machine Building Day is held annually on the fourth Sunday of autumn. 

   One of the main traditions of the festival is the ceremony of awarding the outstanding representatives of the field of engineering by the President, which takes place on the eve of the celebration. During the ceremony, the President assigns employees specific titles and awards medals as a reward. 

   Plays a huge role for the Ukrainian economy this area, so in our country, it is considered a priority. This is based on the close relationship of instrument and engineering with other fields of industry. Scope provides full engineering technological component of other industries, provides apparatus and equipment, vehicles, as well as their repair and maintenance. In addition, this region plays an important strategic role for our country. 

   Despite the fact that the engineering of Ukraine produces relatively obsolete products, rather than in more developed countries, the development of some Ukrainian scientists are in demand, and now not only on the territory of our country. Paton was not only one of the inventors of a special type of welding, but also founded the Institute of Welding. Surprisingly, it is now a joint development of the Institute with the Institute of surgery are used for sealing of blood vessels and the living tissues of humans and animals. 

   One of the most famous achievements of Ukrainian aircraft industry is the product of a Serial Plant "Antonov" - AN-225 "Mriya" - a plane that has the largest capacity in the world. This plane is a multiple champion of various nominations, winner of the prize, and in 2009 brought in the famous mine of records - Guinness Book of Records.
