World Animal Day

   This coming Saturday is listed in the calendar of holidays World Animal Protection Day, which in our country is celebrated every year since 2008. Day was established back in 1931 in Florence, the decision of the International Congress of animal rights. This idea is supported by many organizations and countries. Since then, animal welfare advocates over 65 countries celebrate this event every year. On this day, parades, charity events, competitions among humans or animals, in which the winner is awarded the original prizes, medals and other awards. On the same day Catholics revere the memory of St. Francis, who is considered the patron saint of animals. 

   It so happened that the anthropogenic impact on the environment is very large and carries negative consequences for nature and animals in particular, not to mention poaching and animal cruelty. Since the greatest damage to animals brings people, it is that we must stand up for our smaller brethren. The task of the day - to convey to the public the importance of this problem and to attract people to the issue of animal welfare. 

   Animal advocates heed to humanity through the media, through advertising and holding charity events. At such events are organized donations to the Fund for Animal Welfare. For charitable contributions of volunteers handing out badges with the logo of the organization of animal rights as souvenirs.
